What Kathryn wants to be when she grows up

In August the girls and I went to the State Fair. We took in the U of M Alumni Band and Goldy Gopher, much to the girls' delight. We also went to the kids farm and the girls did their chores. When we left the kids farm we walked through the horse trailer area to avoid the total congestion on the streets. The following conversation ensued on our traverse through the horse trailer area.

"I don't want to go this way," Kathryn said.
"Why not?" mom asked.
"I don't want to see the horse trailers."
"Well maybe someday you'll have a horse and you'll need a horse trailer. If we walk through we can see what's available."
(NOTE: I was not suggesting that she'd have a horse whilst under our roof--the "some day" was, in my mind, some day FAR into the future!)
"Mom, I don't want a horse."
"How do you know that?"
"I am going to be a mom, a grandma, and a teacher. I won't have time to have a horse." Kathryn said with firm and excited resolution.
(SECOND NOTE: earlier in the summer, shortly after discovering the first American Girl Doll catalog that found its way to our house and subsequently into Kathryn's hands, she told me that she wanted to be a mom, a grandma, a teacher, and an American Girl Doll hairstylist.)

Those are lofty goals--I can live with that!
