The Lion King was quite popular around here before Halloween. The girls first saw the movie this summer and it was a hit that inspired many imaginative activities.

Submitted by aj on Fri, 09/17/2010 - 21:43We had to get rid of our cats this week, due to the unfortunate fact that they were starting to assert their territorial instinct in our house. They will now be living their lives outside in the country, which I expect will be a good thing for them as well as us. We really loved our cats though, so it's a big adjustment for everyone. Here are Kathryn and Zoe saying goodbye before Michelle brought them to her brother's place.

Submitted by michelle on Sun, 11/08/2009 - 22:51Kathryn was nominated by her teacher to be one of the Students of the Month at Northrop Urban Environmental School. We are so proud of her being Mrs. Stoneburg's right-hand.
Unfortunately we didn't get great pictures of Kathryn receiving her award, but it was a special event for her and I wanted to share it with you!
What Kathryn wants to be when she grows up
Submitted by michelle on Sun, 11/08/2009 - 22:28In August the girls and I went to the State Fair. We took in the U of M Alumni Band and Goldy Gopher, much to the girls' delight. We also went to the kids farm and the girls did their chores. When we left the kids farm we walked through the horse trailer area to avoid the total congestion on the streets. The following conversation ensued on our traverse through the horse trailer area.
Kathryn singing with BLC Cherub Choir 10-25-2009
Submitted by michelle on Sun, 11/08/2009 - 22:04Kathryn is in the Cherub Choir (K-2nd grade) at Bethlehem Lutheran and she quite enjoys it. The director told us that Kathryn is one of her favorites (of course--why wouldn't she be a favorite?!!!) because she is so friendly and loves to participate. =)
Watch and see how much she follows the director. Perhaps she has a future in dramatic music...
